I have been writing and editing for over 30 years.
As an author, I’ve written long-form features and short news bits, op/eds and blog posts, celebrity profiles and lifestyle articles. I’ve been published in news sites, print dailies, alternative weeklies, consumer magazines, trade magazines, and nonprofit quarterlies. See samples here.
In 2008, I earned a certificate in writing for business, marketing, and communications from Simon Fraser University’s Writing and Publishing Program. In 2015, I graduated from the University of King’s College’s Master of Fine Arts program in Creative Nonfiction Writing. I’m working on a book about concussion.
As an editor, I’ve worked on four-page newsletters and four-colour magazines, book-length manuscripts and business documents, training manuals and academic courseware, theses and dissertations. The topics I’ve covered are too numerous to list.
For the past several years, I’ve increasingly focused on editing books. I currently freelance my services to Harbour Publishing, Greystone Books, and the Royal BC Museum as well as a wide range of self-publishing authors and numerous government and business entities. In the past, I’ve freelanced for LifeTree Media, Goddess Ink, and Simon Fraser University. See samples here.
